Get a buzz at this multidisciplinary installation with light, sound and multimedia. You are invited to touch and feel the interaction of electricity and neon! Light sculptures by Monika Wulfers and John David Mooney recall the architectural grid of the city. Be entertained by a live feed of Look at US project by artists Ewa Bloch and Baltazar Castillo from the Wickerpark neighborhood, Mieke Zuiderweg's view of women, and Floyd Webb's recording of violence in Mali and our own neighborhoods. Shawn Decker, composer and artist, writes music for live performance, electronic tape, and for film and video soundtracks, and works primarily with interactive computer-based performance. His work 'Scratch Pieces' will be featured. Participating artists will talk about what is real in their work, how it is art, and how it can be inspiring to the members in the wider community. Also featuring a special guest appearance by Kathryn Born to discuss her new book 'The Blue Kind', recently published by Northern Illinois University Press and listed in the University of Chicago catalog.
