BOLT Residency and HATCH Projects Present an Open Studio and Exhibition Tour with Artists and Curator

Thursday, October 18, 2012 - 6:00pm to 8:00pm
Chicago Artists' Coalition (CAC) will present an intimate evening of artist led tours of BOLT Residency studios, featuring an open studio plan housing 10 contemporary Chicago artists who will lead guests through their artistic practice and share their experiences as a Chicago artist situated in the west loop. Simultaneously, guests will have the opportunity to engage with artist and curator led-tours of two exhibitions featuring BOLT Resident artist Jenny Kendler in the BOLT Project Space and HATCH Projects artists in a curated exhibition in the HATCH Projects gallery, both located at CAC. HATCH Projects guest curator Tempestt Hazel and artists Barbara Blacharczyk, Angela Davis Fegan, Alexandra Lee (ATYL) and Erik L. Peterson will provide guests with a tour of an exhibition which challenges artists to explore the artifacts and residue of the past and present history of the Fulton Market District while simultaneously pushing the limits of their current practice. Jenny Kendler (BOLT Resident artist and co-founder of Other People's Pixels (OPP)) presents her solo exhibition "The Hall of Disappearing." Kendler's work considers humans beings' relationship with the natural world, focusing on the complexity of issues like extinction, habitat loss, mutualism and climate change.
